Background

Wiseplay is a video player for Android smartphones and tablets, with support for hardware acceleration, to watch offline and online videos. Supporting most video formats and the ability to see videos on TV using a Chromecast device makes the app one of the best video players for Android.

The needs

Due to the functionality of the app as a video player, the team behind Wiseplay wanted to integrate ads that won’t disturb the normal user flow or the user experience while watching videos. Quality UX was the first priority but at the same time high rates in latin America and payments that are always on time were amongst the most important requirements of the team.

The solution

In June 15 Eduardo and the Wiseplay team integrated native ads into the main feed stream of the app. The native in-feed ad type that was used, was further optimized using the placement editor from the dashboard to match the look and feel of the Wiseplay’s UI.
